Planned Parenthood and ACLU Obstruct People’s Rights with Lawsuit against Personhood Nevada

Carson City, NV – Planned Parenthood and the ACLU have filed a lawsuit against the sponsors of a Nevada ballot initiative defining the term “person”.

The simple, one-sentence amendment states, “In the great state of Nevada, the term ‘person’ applies to every human being.”

Blogger Emmily Bristol, the woman participating in the lawsuit, seems to admit on her blog that the measure is easy to understand. She claims, “It is designed to leave voters scratching their heads and saying, ‘Well, duh, a person is a person.’ “

“Exactly,” answered Keith Mason of Personhood USA. “It’s simple, easy to understand, and if even the folks behind the lawsuit can see that it’s that simple, the voters shouldn’t have any trouble. Every human being is a person. Period.”

“Children in the womb today have fewer rights than dogs or cats,” continued Mason. “Planned Parenthood, the ACLU, and Emmily Bristol are seeking to keep it that way.”

Nevada’s personhood amendment was filed on October 21, 2009. An amendment much like this one was introduced in Colorado and was found to be a single-subject issue. In 2007, Planned Parenthood and the ACLU teamed up to try to defeat the Colorado Personhood Amendment, but failed even up to the Colorado Supreme Court.

“This is clearly a single subject issue, easy to understand, and simply recognizes the rights of every human being,” stated Keith Mason, of Personhood USA. “Planned Parenthood’s lawsuit is not only stifling the people’s right to a ballot initiative, but it appears desperate. Once personhood is properly recognized, Planned Parenthood stands to lose over a billion dollars in annual profit.”

“This is now the third time that the ACLU and Planned Parenthood have ganged up to silence the voice of the people, and their right to ballot initiatives,” concluded Mason. “In Colorado, they failed. They are trying to silence us, and to keep the vote away from the people. The citizens have a right to ballot initiatives, and human beings have a right to live.”

Planned Parenthood Missouri Attempts to Shut Down Personhood by Lawsuit Against State of Missouri

October 30, 2009, St. Louis, MO – Planned Parenthood sued the State of Missouri this week to challenge two pro-life ballot initiatives, in an apparent effort to stifle the people’s constitutional right to the ballot process.
 
One of the ballot initiatives, submitted by Personhood Missouri, states, “Section 35, Person defined.  As used in sections 2, 10, and 14 of Article I of the state constitution, the term “person” shall apply to every human being from the beginning of the biological development of that human being.”
 
The personhood amendment, along with another pro-life initiative, were both approved by Secretary of State Democrat Robin Carnahan on October 20th. An amendment much like this one was introduced in Colorado and found to be a single-subject issue, approved by the Colorado State Supreme Court. The Planned Parenthood lawsuit claims that the Missouri personhood amendment did not warn voters of the legal and constitutional fallout if the ballot measure passes.
 
“The legal and constitutional ‘fallout’ of a Missouri Personhood amendment, is that all humans in the state of Missouri have human rights,” stated Keith Mason, of Personhood USA. “All humans are people, and must be protected.”
 
According to the law, it is not required or necessary for ballot initiative proposers to outline every possible legal scenario if an amendment is passed.

“Our amendment is easy to understand, and simply protects all humans from their biological beginning,” stated Dr. Gregory Thompson, initiative sponsor. “The Planned Parenthood lawsuit was quoted in several newspapers as incorrectly using the term, ‘fertilized egg’.  In fact, at the moment of biological beginning, the newly formed human being is not an egg at all, but a unique individual person.”

This lawsuit will cost taxpayers additional funds and use valuable government resources, pointed out Dr. Thompson. He continued to say, “The very organization that uses tax dollars to cause the deaths of millions of innocent human beings and many mothers, along with years of physical, mental, and spiritual pain, is now using government resources again to keep this issue from going to the voters.”

“The motivation of Planned Parenthood is highly suspect. This lawsuit addresses a concern about loss of funds, yet Planned Parenthood reportedly brought in over 10 million dollars in 2008 in Missouri alone, and over a billion dollars nationwide, ” continued Mason. “This is clearly an act of desperation by a billion dollar industry, seeking to keep the issue of Personhood away from the people of Missouri.”

To Those That Hear His Voice

Thank you for your willingness to obey HIS call in your life to serve HIM.  The families and the nation are at such great risk, because as a nation we have turned our backs on God and the foundation of Jesus, as we murder our children.  Personhood Missouri will continue the stand with other Christians against the powers and principalities that seek to kill, steal, and destroy. 

Missouri Language for Initiative Petition:  Be it resolved by the people of the State of Missouri that the Constitution be amended. 

One new section is adopted to be known as section 35 of Article I, (or if section 35 of Article I already exists, then this proposal shall add a new section to Article I in the next available numeric order), to read as follows: 

Section 35, Person defined.  As used in sections 2, 10, and 14 of Article I of the state constitution, the term “person” shall apply to every human being from the beginning of the biological development of that human being. 

We also gave a suggestion for a Ballot Title:  Shall there be an amendment to the Missouri constitution applying the term “person”, as used in those provisions of the Missouri constitution relating to natural rights, due process of law, and access to courts of justice to every human being from the beginning of the biological development of that human being? 

Bearing Witness to the Truth, the Moral Obligation of all Christians. 

Let us bear witness to the Truth, honor and glorify God, and stand in harms way for the lives and souls of the children. 

Whether our personal character, boldness, fortitude, and courage can actually demonstrate what we have been given the grace to know to be true is another issue altogether.  I will paraphrase Father John Corapi in this very important Truth for Christians.  “Every Christian faithful to the Gospel, has the moral obligation to bear witness to the truth, ‘in season and out of season, convenient or inconvenient,’ accepted or rejected.  This mandate is nothing new, of course, It’s as old as the Old Testament, and as new as the New Testament.  Nonetheless, I’m afraid that it has become more necessary than ever to remind ourselves of it.” 

Jesus told Pilate, “My kingdom does not belong to this world.  If my kingdom were of this world, my subjects would be fighting to save me from being handed over to the Jews.  As it is, my kingdom is not here.”  At this Pilate said to him, “So, then, you are a king?”

Jesus replied;  “It is you who say I am a king.  The reason I was born, the reason why I came into the world, is to testify to the truth.  Anyone committed to the truth hears my voice. 

More and more of us and our children are replying just as Pilate did to Jesus’ words.  “Truth!”  Pilate said, “What does that mean?” 

Understand, knowing the Truth is important for you?  Understand, our actions make a difference?  We are at WAR for the lives and souls of the children, and no matter what rhetoric is used to distract us to other compassionate issues, if we do not address these things first, we dishonor God and He will never bless us or our nation.  As Jesus said, we must feed the poor, we must clothe the naked, visit the sick and imprisoned, care for the widows and orphans, we are not to neglect these things, even as He instructs us to take on the weightier issues of the day.   

We are indeed under judgment in this nation for turning our backs on God and murdering our children, which is an abomination to a Holy God.  These six things does the LORD hate: yes, seven are an abomination to him: A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood. A heart that devises wicked imaginations, feet that are swift in running to mischief, A false witness [that] speaks lies, and him that sows discord among brethren.  Proverbs 6:16-19 

We watch as many children leave their faith, and seek the lusts of the world, with a selfishness and disobedience.  We see all the moral decay and corruption, we are watching as our enemies have rule over us, and the list goes on.  We are told what it will take from His people to turn things around and heal our land, yet the body of Christ continues to allow the slaughter of innocents.  Listen to God’s heart: 

“They have built also the high places of Baal, to burn their sons with fire [for] burnt-offerings to Baal, which I commanded not, nor spoke [it], neither came [it] into my mind:”  Jeremiah 19:5 

Can I ask, what are you willing to do to protect your loved ones?  Would you stand in harms way for the lives and souls of your family, friends, and neighbors?  Would you use whatever you could muster to protect them and their eternal souls?  Are you willing to listen to what God said, “ If my people, who are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”  2 Chronicles 7:14 

Let us have unity as we go forward for the King of Kings, standing together to honor and glorify Him with no ulterior motives.  Treating each other with love and forgiveness, as we are faithful in obedience to Him, and trust Him, turning away from all the “yeah but” and the “but ifs”  as if we know a better way.  Let us pray that those who are our Shepherds lead as Jesus would, putting principal always over pragmatism.  Jesus knows that the baby at the beginning of biological development is a “person” and He would protect them, please help us.  Personhood Missouri, Call 417-754-8774 or 417-894-5768  and email me at personhoodmo@yahoo.com .  I reach out in love to you, from my best friend Jesus, help us with the Personhood Amendment in Missouri.     

Listen to the wisdom of Solomon, “Whatever you do, do it with all of your might, for there will be no work, or planning, or knowledge, or wisdom, in the grave, where you are going.”  Did I mention that you are going to die?  What then? 

"Laws which authorize and promote abortion and euthanasia are therefore radically opposed not only to the good of the individual but also to the common good; as such they are completely lacking in authentic juridical validity. Disregard for the right to life, precisely because it leads to the killing of the person whom society exists to serve, is what most directly conflicts with the possibility of achieving the common good." (John Paul II, Evangelium Vitae 72) 

“If you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any fellowship with the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and purpose. Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves.  Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others. Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus: Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, but made himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient to death— even death on a cross!  

Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”     

Pray with me:  Use us to open the eyes and ears of Your children to take every opportunity to protect your little ones at all stages of life.  Most gracious Heavenly Father, we cry out for the faithfulness of the Shepherds to return and be like the faithfulness of Christ.  May the Holy Spirit give them the strength to separate again from the world so that they serve you by tending your sheep.  The Children are dying and losing their souls because of the lack of true Shepherds, turn the Shepherds back to a valiant faith that can face the confusion and conflict.  Father give your Shepherds strength to overcome temptations and help them to return to fidelity in you.  May those that Shepherd have self sacrifice and a denial of self as you protect them from evil.  Let the Shepherds pick up their cross and again follow you.  May the light of your Truth shine through their lives and with your grace, return them to good works as defined by you, not man.  They have but human hearts with human frailty, and have been weak in times of trouble and sorrow.  In thought, word, and deed, give them a desire and your Grace to steadily grow in holiness.  Increase their wisdom, knowledge, and understanding of your Truth.  Let your will be done in their lives, so that your sheep are protected from the moment of conception to a natural death.

Personhood Missouri Submits Personhood Amendment to Missouri State Constitution

PRESS RELEASE, Sept. 17/ Pro-life Missourians submitted language late yesterday to the Missouri Secretary of State to bring the protection of the Missouri Constitution to the most defenseless human beings, preborn children.

The amendment, which is known as the Personhood Amendment, will define all human beings as  equal persons under the law from the beginning of the biological development of that human being.

Led by local pro-lifers, Gregory Thompson and Mark Kiser the Missouri Personhood Amendment joins Florida, Montana, Colorado, and Mississippi, which started Personhood efforts earlier this year. 

“No human being in the state of Missouri should ever be considered property,” stated Gregory Thompson of Personhood Missouri.  “Right now, the child in the womb has no rights. The Personhood Amendment will simply ensure that our laws recognize what we already know: a person’s a person no matter how small.”
